  • New Quay was a former ship-building centre and a thriving commercial port. Today it remains one of Wales' most popular sailing centres. A variety of shops, restaurants and cafes cater for all tastes. It is probably the best location in the UK to see bottle-nosed dolphins - many boat trips are available from the harbour. They are now running again for the season. New Quay is also famed for its links with the Welsh writer Dylan Thomas and you can follow the Dylan Thomas trail through the town.(100 yrs after his birth) The Cardigan Bay Watersports centre offers tuition in in a wide range of maritime leisure and recreational pursuits including sailing, kayaking, windsurfing and power boating.

  • The secluded cove of Cwmtydu (1 mile) is renowned for smugglers and pirates, the legendary Sion Cwilt was one such smuggler who used the bay in the 18th century. Seal pups can often be found here in the autumn months. Further afield are the beautiful coastal villages of Llangrannog, Tresaith and Aberaeron. Quay Parade in Aberaeron recently being voted in the top 10 of Google's most beautiful streets awards in the UK.
