the accomodation is good but would be extremely difficult to manage from a wheelchair on your own. Difficult getting through the very heavy main door due to a small step and it being on a hill. Once inside the main door you have to manage to close the door and then get on the lift. Beware the lift is quite narrow and a 17 inch chair does not fit on.once inside there is plenty of space and the housekeeper is very helpful, but the problem is there is no one here if anything goes wrong as she is not here all the time, you have to phone giancarlo.no one to ask re local eating places etc. the shower seat in the bathroom is very small and difficult to tranfer...ok for small people !!!! beware the hill mentioned in the blurb....yes it is downhill but then you have to come up again and it is very steep and cobbled and very uneven....no pavements. we had to go down to eat as the restaurants at the top of the spanish steps are very expensive. the good things...the bed is good and firm...very clean.....good linen and towels, air conditioning.and the best thing...the sun shines through the open window in the late afternoon and you can sunbath in bed !!!!! the breakast room is upstairs so no access to that...it is served in your room...fine if you dont mind that....no problem for us.....but no table to eat at.... no facilities in the room for making drinks so be prepared to pay out lots in cafes. rome is wonderful......from a wheelchair point of view ...best to go on wheels and foot....the public buses are a nightmare....lots of taxis....some good for wheelchairs and there is a stand quite close to the accomodation....the tour buses seem very good value if you know where to pick it up.....no one seemed to know locally so we didnt try one..but probably the easiest and cheapest way to travel around rome by vehicle. would suggest you find out before coming. do lots of research about access before coming...we came with lots of info and it was invaluable. saves lot
