Summary: Casa de Sueno, situated near Javea in Spain, is a superb, fully-equipped, wheelchair accessible family villa with lovely, landscaped gardens and private pool. It is on a level plot of 1000m2. It was designed by a paraplegic with the wheelchair user in mind and is currently owned by a T1/2 paraplegic. All rooms are spacious and accessible for wheelchairs. The narrowest doorway is 86 cm wide and there is access to virtually all parts of the gardens and access to the 10m x 5m pool via a hoist.

Exterior Description

Outside there is a partially glazed naya with table & 6 chairs. This looks onto the pool terrace with a 10m x 5m pool, subeds, awnings and solar-heated shower. The gardens are landscaped and level with raised beds and wide paths for wheelchair access. The 10 x 5m pool has a new, water-powered, chair-type hoist for easy and dignified entry into the water.

Casa de Sueno is situated among the pines above the town of Javea. It is on the road from the town to Cap de la Nao, the most easterly point of Spain. It is a tranquil area and just a short walk/push from cafes, restaurants and shops. Several beauty spots are just minutes drive from the villa and a short walk will take you out onto the coastal path with views across to Ibiza. A 5 minute drive will get you to the main beach of Javea which is sandy and accessible with a wide promenade full of shops, cafes and restaurants. The port area of Javea also has a promenade with a multitude of cafes and restaurants and a marina. The old town of Javea has plenty of shops and narrow shady streets with indoor and outdoor markets. There are plenty of activities available to holiday makers in Javea including golf, tennis, sailing and windsurfing.

Additional Services

Cable TV is provided with UK TV channels, Sky Channels and UK radio stations. There is a DVD player, library of 50 DVD films,iPod/iPhone charger and player with radio and wifi internet connection (you will need to bring a laptop). A welcome pack is provided with essential goods such as bottled water, milk, eggs, tea, coffee and wine. Indoor towels are also provided and there is a weekly linen service for stays of longer than one week.

We have stayed in Javea before and saw this villa on our last visit. We were not disappointed and it more than met our expectations. The owners could not have been more helpful in the booking process, directions and guidance on other matters. The pool was superb for getting in and out of, for a wheelchair bound person and it was 26-28 ° but it was August. The rest of the accommodation was clean bright and most of all accessible. Would highly recommend.

In the middle of October 2006 I and three girlfriends went to Casa de Sueno in Javea for ten days holiday. Since I need a wheelchair to move around I have to find suitable places for my holidays. I found Casa de Sueno on the internet and contacted the owners. They provided me with all the help and information I needed, and everything sounded like this was a place we could enjoy. And it was!! We were all very satisfied with the resort. For me the house and the pool and the environment were just perfect. Very relaxed and quiet around the house and just ten minutes by car to all kinds of beach, restaurants and city life if you got tired of reading or swimming or sunbathing by the pool. My friends took long walks every day in the environment around the house and came back with happy reviews about the lovely sceneries they had experienced. We had a car during all the ten days. It was very easy to pick it up at the airport and deliver it when we left. For your own convenience you do need a car during your stay, both for shopping, pleasure and getting to know your “neighborhood”. We took a lot of daytrips to visit other places and for eating out in between our own cooking. I will especially thank the owners of Casa de Sueno for excellent service and kind help. They answered my e-mails right away and made it very easy for me to arrange the trip from my country (Norway). They also had a pool- and garden man who came twice a week to clean the pool and to help us if we needed anything. We could also call this person in case of difficulties which made our stay even more relaxed. All in all; we had a lovely holiday, both for me and my “walking” friends, and we hope to go back in not too long time. Elisabeth Harbin

We visited Casa de Sueno in August 2006 and can honestly say it was the best thought about villa for wheelchair users we have stayed in. The weather was unbelievable, everything was there for you eg. welcome pack so you didn't have worry straight away about getting your essentials. We were only there 2 minutes before my husband and daughter were in the pool, thanks to the pool hoist (for my husband). We were all able to go down on the beach together as they have huge ramps right down to the sea front. Amazing villa.
