Location
  • Distance to nearest Town: .1 miles
  • The twin towns of Lytham and Saint Annes are nowadays jointly referred to as Lytham St Annes as their separate boundaries are virtually indistinguishable, although residents may beg to differ, for old loyalties die hard. Lytham is a quieter, less commercially developed resort when compared to its immediate northern neighbour, Blackpool, and for this reason it is much favoured by older people and those who seek a more peaceful seaside experience.

3 stars = Value for money????

Review

The hotel is beautifully situated, was refurbished to a high standard a few years ago and is a wheelchair users haven. Having spoken to other guests, some of which had made return bookings, this five star hotel is no longer the five stars that it boasted a year ago. The promised warm welcome at the St.Annes hotel was sadly only expressed by a few. The booking form that listed all of the requests which I carefully completed was in the reception file but not on the computer system therefore our specific needs were not catered for or met. The food was mediocore at best and presented no comparison to the menu listed on the hotel website; portions were inadequate and when we asked for more we were told there was none. Although the hotel is fully licensed, the bar was only open from 6pm until 11pm, had no draught beer and the ice machine had been broken for the past 3 weeks. The housekeepers did not change the used bed linen and left towels and toilet rolls outside the room door. Additionally, room bins were not emptied and the kitchen was not cleared of glasses/pots from previous days. One of the main reasons for choosing this hotel was for the hydro pool facility, which was reflected in the price we paid, however, this was out of order for our entire five day stay. To add to this, the hotel failed to inform us or the other guests that the pool facility was unavailble prior to our arrival or on arrival. The total cost of the holiday for four adults staying for four nights was £1,040; we certainly do not feel that this hotel was value for money.

I would like to take this opportunity to assure any past, present or future guests of The St Annes Hotel, that any issues from the past have now been dealt with and the hotel is fully operational once more. I would like to add that Mrs McMahon's visit was prior to my appointment as Manager at the Hotel and not in March of this year. I have spoken at length with Mrs McMahon and invited her to come back to the Hotel to experience the improvements and take full advantage of all the hotel has to offer. We look forward to welcoming Mrs McMahon and her family back to the hotel and extend a warm welcome to all our future guests.
