Los Cristianos is a very accessible area, there are two accessible beaches. Getting to and from is not a problem; getting too because its mainly down hill, could be a little difficult on the way back for wheelchair users. There are plenty of taxis. There are 4 new taxis with wheel in access at rear entrance for people who find it hard to transfer. Food is fantastic, a lot of fresh fish on the menus, facilities are good all over really, they are that desperate to be accessible but some ramps are impossible to wheel up, only few areas though. If you require specialised equipment contact Lero, they’re excellent when it comes to transport, activities, mattresses, shower chairs, electric wheelchairs etc.

Thank you accessatlast for finding me an all equipped, accessible hotel in the sun, the hotel rented me a hoist, shower chair, sliding board and a key for the public disabled toilets. There was entertainment in the hotel every night and scuba diving lessons, the town also had an accessible beach and boat trips. I couldn't of asked for anything better Thank you to everyone at accessatlast

All you could ask for, almost always year round sunshine guarenteed. Airport transfer with very efficent driver. The resort has all the facilities a disabled or non disabled person would require for a relaxing enjoyable holiday. Accesibility for wheelchair users throughout. Hot swimming pool with hoist and occasional dissapearing lifegaurd to boot. Cold poo(without hoist) The food is of high quality and limitless in quantity. The slight down side is that equipment hire, ie: electric beds, shower chairs, (although these are now free) wheelchairs scooters etc has to be arranged through Le Ro who are rude and ignorant. Hate to say it but they are German, maybe the answer ? I have been going for years and you will struggle to find better.

I agree with previous reviewer that Lero can be abrupt and appear rude, however, Orange Badge just down the road are English and very helpful. They do the same as Lero, airport transfers, trips, hire of equipment, and can put you in touch with English nursing services. Mar y Sol is fantastic for the independent disabled traveller. I go twice a year. On my last visit in November I fell transferring from wheelchair to bed and within 5 minutes someone came and picked me up.

Hi Stephen, Had a thoroughly enjoyable time at Mar y Sol - though we really could have done with another week - but diary wouldn not allow. My god how the area has changed since we were there last - it was difficult to work out where you were - the complex itself hasn't changed much just the additional rooms. LeRo met us at the airport with our luggage and transferred us to Mar y Sol - we had room 223 above reception which suited us perfectly. We found that we preferred to eat lunch at Mar y Sol and go out in the evening - we didn't go far, and used Little Italy just down the road most evenings. Also, on the road down to the front on the right (next to the supermarket), has opened up a cafe called Julienes , which does very good coffee, tea, cakes and lunches.
