I am writing to let you know that my Mum and i had a great holiday in the Confortel hotel in May (4th-13th). The hotel was great and the staff helpful and friendly. The bedroom and bathroom had all the requirements for my Mum.She walks with a frame and also uses a wheelchair. The adapted rooms are at the back of the hotel so there is no balcony but that was fine. (the rooms with balconies have a very high lip to step over). The beach had a wooden pathway which was fine with the wheelchair and we managed to get her on to a sun bed. Again the people there were very helpful. I couldnt have managed without Colins help at the airport and the hotel. It made such a difference with him there and less stress for me. He was worth his weight in gold!! Thanks for all your help.

Have just returned from a great stay at this hotel. The staff are friendly and always willing to help you in one way or another. The hotel itself is great for a wheelchair user, everywhere is accessible. The room we had was spacious and the bathroom was better than I expected, though the only downside was the annoying lip to get into the shower area. The hoist and shower chair hire were great, everything was there when we arrived. The taxi from the airport was very enjoyable, the driver was very informative and helpful throughout. If you want to go anywhere and aren't sure of the facilities, this hotel is well worth visiting, as everything is spot on.

My husband I mayself have just returned from 2 weeks at the Confortel (I am paraplegic). We have had a thoroughly enjoyable time. We were a bit disappointed there was no balcony although I believe that they are nearly impossible to get out onto anyway. The bathroom was good with just a slight lip to get into the wheel in shower but there are grab rails in the shower and next to the toilet. The hotel provided a shower chair but this wasn't a self propel one and didn't have moveable arm rests although I am sure some people would manage this ok and save having to hire one. We booked this hotel as there was a hoist into the pool, however the sun wasn't on the pool from about early afternoon and the sun loungers were too low to transfer onto and seemed a little shabby. This wasn't a problem though as the hotel is a 5-10 mins push to the accessible beach with boarded beach area, disabled toilet and shower and amphibuggies where you are assisted into the sea which was excellent. The restauants were excellent along the front and we found accessible toilets in the tepanyaki (behind the Stella Maris appts) and in most of the small bars in the street behind the hotel (Zen bar, Tom's Irish bar and Claddash). We would definately go again. Thanks

Stephen, I just want to say thank you for letting us carry the holiday over from when Linda broke her hip last year and we had to cancel. Steve, the holiday was really fantastic, I will start with the hotel, what a very good standard everything was from the cleanliness (rooms cleaned and towels etc changed every day) and the quality of the food, always something that you liked and it was extremely very very good, so much to choose from. The friendliness of the staff, who could not do enough to help, whether it was an extra pillow required, or a request to ask them could they clean the room a bit later one day, for whatever reason? Then there was the wheelchair access for disabled, it was so easy, to get to the restaurant from any floor, out of the lift and straight into it, four paces from the lift, excellent. I want people to know that it is so easy to move about this hotel and it was easily one of the quietest hotels I have ever been in. Also, around the hotel it is so accessible very flat, you can walk for miles pushing a wheelchair or buggy and it is effortless. With many welcoming restaurants, bars and snack bars to chose from, accommodating wheelchair users easily and efficiently, just mingling in, no problem. There is even an easy access beach for wheelchairs, if required. We also used Mobility Costa for the transfers from the airport to the hotel and then for the return journey, Steve at Mobility Costa is a smashing guy, who also could not have been more friendly or helpful. Steve has a vehicle with a ramp that drops down and Linda my wife was pushed up the ramp into the vehicle, then the wheelchair was secured for the jouney to and from the airport. I want you to know that our holiday was a huge succes and it was all down to Access At Last, because without you this would not have been possible. From myself Ken and my wife Linda, thanks very much

I have just returned from the Confortel, Fuengirola and agree with everything that has been written before. I thoroughly enjoyed this hotel and resort. The staff were very efficient and friendly and the hotel had the feel of a proper hotel and not just a tourist hotel which made it nice and quiet which suited us. I am a wheelchair user and felt independant throughout the holiday. The long promenade was geat and I returned fitter and a bit leaner which was a bonus. We had a lovely day out at Puerto Banus. We took an ordinary taxi, accessible ones are available to order but are 25% more expensive. I enjoyed this much needed break so much I am making enquiries to return in September. We also used Mobility Costa for the airport transfers who provided a first class service.

We have just returned from a thoroughly enjoyable holiday in Fuengirola, staying at the Confortel hotel. The hotel is situated right on the seafront promenade, which is flat and easily accessible. There are lots of drop kerbs and pedestrian crossings so there are no problems getting about. The ease of mobility impressed us both enormously after facing big problems in other resorts/countries with massive kerbs/no drop kerbs or steep gradients - go around Valetta in a wheelchair for eg, you must be joking! The hotel was also a pleasant surprise. The room was nice and spacious - we both have MS and both have wheelchairs - and had a roll in shower with, for the first time in our experience, a sink that you could use from a wheelchair. Tremendous! The staff were pleasant and very helpful and the food was generally very good, despite some moaning from just a few. Don't believe it!! We also met some really nice people and it was good to have a real mix of different nationalities in the hotel. Problems? Well, there is a slight lip to get over when you enter the shower in a wheelchair and the shower seat was the same as those used on the balcony and tended to pitch you back a bit when you sat in it, which made getting up a bit awkward. Also, despite there being two very spacious disabled toilets near the bar and the dining room, it was a bit awkward getting in and out of them. Despite this, these were minor problems in comparison with other places that we have stayed in and we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone who was thinking of going to Fuengirola. We would like to go back next year!

My wife who is wheelchair bound and I have just returned from the Confortel, Fuengirola. It was just as described, on the seafront and very user friendly. The shower chair we ordered was in the shower when we arrived and I noticed the floor numbers are in braille on the lifts and on the room numbers. The rooms had wide doors and easy access to the bathroom. The staff were nice and friendly. All in all a pleasant experence, thank you. Eddie and Pat Sullivan.

Third time lucky! I've been disabled for almost 3 years now and this was my third attempt at a holiday. It was so good to have the things that make for basic home comforts. Mostly it was just perfect. Our room didn't have a balcony and I think that space was only just enough for 2 with a wheelchair in tow. I couldn't use the wardrobe from the wheelchair so relied on others for this. There was a lip of about an inch to get into the shower and the shower chair was a non starter - brakes at the back only and the flooring was slippy. But believe me this was heaven compared to previous experiences and I'd go back again. So close to the beach and the weather was great.

Hi i went to fuengirola in spain, i stayed at Confotel hotel which was great for wheelchair access it also had a hoist to get into the pool. The hotel is on the sea front, so i only had to cross the road to go to the beach and on the beach there is a wooden path you could wheel down and get on a sun lounger if you wanted. I would definately go there again. Thank you Accessatlast

My girlfriend and I have just returned from a nine night stay at the Hotel Confortel in Fuengirola and if you are looking for a relaxing holiday, where your toughest decision is where and what to eat that night, then I can highly recommend it. As a Paraplegic (level T-9) then my access needs are essentially a level accees shower with grab rails within the bathroom and the Confortel certainly ticked those boxes. The room themselves are modern, clean and comfortable and whilst the balcony may be inaccessible my girlfriend assures me the view is gorgeous. The hotel itself is more aimed at couples and anyone aged 25yrs and above. The resort is a wheelchair users dream with a wheelchair accessbile beach and mile long promenade with many accessible bars/resteraunts, due to the obvious propensity for al-fresco dining, (toilets can be found at Jebega and Los Corales restaurants). I can highly recommend Primervara/Dominques and Los Corales. Would I go back? Yes, in an instant!
