Coyote Sram 7 - Manual Hand Cycle

The Coyote is proof that everything can be made easier. We believe it to be the best performing and lightest hand cycle in its class.

The increased performance and gear changer of the Sram seven speed hub offers unsurpassed reliability and quality for all riders whether riding to work daily or pedaling on a weekend afternoon.

Click Box:

Many other geared hubs have the gear cable mounted straight on to the side of the hub. This makes it difficult and time consuming for wheelchair users if the wheel has to be removed, when changing the tyre for example.

The Click box is a clever device that fits onto the side of the hub on the outside of the fork dropout. The gear cable runs from the twist grip to the Click box, when the twist grip is turned a mechanism inside the Click box pushes a sprung steel pin inside the axle which selects the correct gear. Removal is achieved without the use of tools simply by turning a knurled nut.

Gear Changing:

A seven-gear shifter is integrated into the Coyote system. You shift gears by turning the right twist grip on the handle bars through position 1-7.

The unique design of the Sram hub allows you to shift gears while continuing to peddle without exerting force. You can also shift gear when the coyote is stationary. You always know what gear you are in with the superior gear indicator built into the twist grip.

Brakes:

There are no brake levers to contend with, no cable adjustment, and no fumbling around trying to adjust the brake blocks. The Coyote comes equipped with a coaster brake, commonly called a back peddle brake. Just push the handle bars away from and the brakes will bring you to a halt.

Docking System:

The Coyote hand cycle can be connected to most rigid wheelchairs via a docking system that is permanently mounted under the wheelchair. It is lightweight, and adds approximately one kilogram to the weight of the chair. Once connected it takes only seconds to dock on.

The rear of the docking system is bolted to either the back axle or a bar going across the back of the chair. The front is bolted to the bar underneath the front of the seat. Some chairs do not have this bar, Kuschall for example. In that case we can make a bar up which is then bolted on using the existing holes.
